Thrifting with intention

There are two ways of thrifting. (I’m sure there are others)

One way of thrifting is to just go perusing. This is definitely the way that I do the most. This is the way that one does it when they thrift for sport. It’s a hobby. It’s entertainment.

As someone who doesn’t really like going to the movies, I do consider it to be my entertainment.

Another way to go thrifting is to go in with a list. (Or maybe just a single item.) This is when you go in looking for something specific. I find I don’t need to do this very often because in all honesty I have way too much clothing and am hardly ever lacking in an area.

Recently a few of my work pants had gone ka-put. So i headed to the thrift in search of pants for work.

I went directly to the pants aisle and I immediately found a couple of pairs that would work for work. I also found a pair of cute sweatpants. They are color blocked with one side being a blushy rose pink and the other side is a light blush pink. (Definitely my color scheme)

The sweat look something like this

After finding these pieces so quickly (I was at a store that organizes by size) I decided to make my way down the home good aisles. (What? It’s super fun!) However I knew that I was not going to buy anything because I’m really trying to be mindful of what I’m bringing in.

Well while I was walking down that aisles, I kept seeing items that I had donated (I had done a huge donation a couple weeks before. (Nothing makes you realize you do not need to buy anything frivolously like seeing your own donations that had previously been frivolously thrifted.

I didn’t feel like trying on the pants and I also didn’t want to spend too much money so I put a pair back.

I headed to the check out with one pair of work pants and the cute pair of sweats.

In line, I changed my mind… the work pants weren’t amazing and I also didn’t know if they would fit well or not.

I ended up leaving with the sweatpants and no work pants… & I love them! They’re so cute!
